A birthday with the children of Zahrouni
On 15 October 2018, two days after his 38th birthday, Karim Gharbi celebrated with the children of the social guidance and orientation centre in Zahrouni, Tunis, and donated 100,000 Tunisian dinars, shared between two centres in the same district: the social care centre for children and the social guidance and orientation centre.
A few weeks earlier, on 9 August 2018, he had given 50,000 dinars to SOS Children’s Village Gammarth, which cares for children who can no longer live with their families.
Working with civil society
In I AM K2, civil society activist Menoubia Neqaa remembers these first actions: “Our first action was SOS Gammarth, we helped the little girls there. The second took place in Zahrouni. He celebrated his birthday with the kids, and they were very happy.”
These gifts were among the first of a long list of commitments to children in Tunisia, followed in 2019 by the care of 14 children at La Voix de l’Enfant in Nabeul.
