On 26 May 2018, three weeks before the World Cup in Russia, K2Rhym released “Oooh La La La La” with the Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho. The song was dedicated to Tunisia’s Eagles of Carthage and to the other Arab teams at the tournament: Morocco, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Filmed where Ronaldinho grew up

The video was shot in Rio de Janeiro, in the neighbourhood where Ronaldinho grew up. It spread fast: about 2.5 million views within two days, according to Kapitalis, and more than 5.5 million by the end of May, according to France 24. “We did it to encourage the Arab countries,” Karim explained.

The project had been announced in October 2017. In I AM K2, Karim calls it “a song that is very dear to my heart, because it’s about my country, Tunisia”.

A friendship that continued

The collaboration with Ronaldinho did not stop there. The Brazilian star joined the charity single “One Love” in 2019, and in May 2022 he travelled to Tunisia at Karim’s invitation and played with the children of Ksar Said.
