In I AM K2, Karim tells how the song came together. He met Snoop Dogg at his studio in Los Angeles and told him Rick Ross, Kevinho and Ronaldinho would be on the track. DJ Khaled was hesitant at first, until Snoop called him on FaceTime and explained that this was a charity project, not a commercial one. The parts were recorded in Los Angeles, Miami, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
The producers included Lu Diaz and The Track Burnaz.
